RIT Croatia students collected over 8,000 EUR at the annual Charity Auction
Another year, another record!
For over two decades, RIT Croatia students have marked the holiday season by organizing the traditional Charity Auction. This event unites students, faculty, and staff in support of those in need.
This year’s auction was another definite success, featuring online bidding through the AirAuctioneer platform, community donations, and live events in Dubrovnik’s Love Bar and Zagreb’s Galleria Business Center. Students, faculty, alumni, and staff came together to bid on unique items, all in the spirit of giving.
Through these collective efforts, an impressive amount of over 8,000 EUR was raised for Rehabilitation Center Silver, an organization recognized for its innovative approach to rehabilitating people with disabilities and children with developmental disabilities. What makes the Center special is the integration of assistance dogs into the rehabilitation process. Guide dogs, rehabilitation, and therapy dogs actively participate in supporting users, contributing to their recovery, and improving the quality of life.
Tomo Naglić, President of the Student Government, reflected on the event:
"This year’s Charity Auction is the result of incredible dedication from our Student Government representatives on both campuses, supported by the outstanding coordination of our Vice Presidents, Lea Gugić and Naomi Strejček. For more than 20 years, this event has brought together students, faculty, staff, and the broader community that are each year exceeding the expectations through their generosity and spirit.
In the months leading up to the auction, both campuses united through bake sales, pub quizzes, performances, and many interactive activities, all aimed at raising awareness and giving back. This tradition is a long-lasting reminder that even the smallest acts can create meaningful change. The success of this year’s auction belongs to everyone involved, from our RIT Croatia family to the communities of our cities, and it stands as a powerful example of what we can achieve together to make a difference in people’s lives."
A heartfelt thank you goes to all donors who generously contributed items for the auction. Without their willingness to do so, the event would not have been such a success!
