Atlanta official credits RIT master’s degree for advancing her career
Chonte’ Martin, Atlanta’s facility management director of operations, started her career 25 years ago after learning electrical work in technical school. She received her advanced graduate certificate in project management from RIT’s School of Individualized Study and continued her online study to complete her master’s degree in facility management.

Rochester Institute of Technology will host the 2022 Baja SAE Collegiate Competition on June 2-5. Volunteers are needed for judging student design and on-track events taking place at the university and at Hogback Hill Motocross site in Palmyra, N.Y.

RIT trailblazers make the Forbes 30 Under 30 list
Forbes has identified a few of the RIT alumni set to define the next decade—and beyond. Two RIT alumni—and a third just a few months shy of the age cut-off—were named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2022. Jackie Wiley ’16 (game design and development) was honored in the Games category, and Dylan Ayrey ’15 (computer engineering) was named in the Enterprise Technology category.

RIT recognized by Veterans Outreach Center for workforce training program initiative
Veterans Outreach Center honored Rochester Institute of Technology, Foodlink, and the CHS Mobile Integrated Health teams this week with its annual Service Provider Awards. The ceremony, held at the local center, recognized the groups’ contributions in the areas of employment, food and living resources, and medical services for area veterans.

Student designer represents RIT on three packaging competition winning teams in four years
Kelly Fellner is still packing heat. The packaging science major has been on three winning RIT student teams in the past four years at the annual Paperboard Packaging Design Challenge. In 2018, she was part of the Packing Heat team that took first place for its subscription box filled with fiery sauces and treats.

Packaging science student is first female Eagle Scout in Finger Lakes region
Rebecca Bober, a third-year packaging science major from Bloomfield, N.Y., recently earned Eagle Scout rank with Boy Scouts of America, becoming the first female Eagle Scout in the Finger Lakes region.
