A Few Fun Facts About Me
- Shameless Brag: I have 7.7K followers on Bluesky. I don't know what I am going to do with it, but have batted around the idea of starting a blog.
- What or Who Inspires Me? A good underdog story always inspires me. People who overcome challenges and do good for others because of those experiences impress me.
- Scariest Thing I Ever Did and Would I do it Again?: I think being your authentic self and making choices that support who you are and who you want to become takes a lot of courage. It can be scary since not everyone in your orbit wants to see you change and grow so you sometimes have to move on without those people.
- Advice for Younger Me: Let other people think what they want. You are doing your best and your best gets better every day.
- What Excites Me About Being an Advisor to RIT College of Liberal Arts Students? I get to support amazing students as they figure out their educational and professional goals so that they can work toward the life that they want.
- Something I Love that Others Might Find Unusual, Unconventional, or Uncomfortable: I am a politics junkie and strongly believe that your vote matters. Your government leaders shape how resources are used in your community, the opportunities that are available to you, and the quality of your life. If you are not paying attention and holding politicians accountable for the decisions that they make on your behalf, you are giving up your power. Politics may not be a comfortable topic for many people. Politicians who want to use and abuse their power count on your discomfort.
- Pets? I am a proud "doggy mama" to an 8 year old lab-beagle mix rescue dog named Whiskey. He is a very good boy and very spoiled.

RIT students have prolific year for securing prestigious international fellowships and scholarships
Sarah Sabal secured two prestigious international scholarships—a Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) and a Boren Awards Scholarship—that will allow her to spend a year intensively studying the Chinese language in an immersive setting. She is one of several students who contributed to a record-breaking year for RIT in terms of securing funding for international experiences.
