SHARP Conference July 2025

For your information, this conference is from July 7 to 11 at UR and RIT, and it is free for RIT folks to attend the sessions. Please register and put in your requests for interpreters if you are interested in attending. For your information, on Thursday, July 10, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Cindy Officer, Joan Naturale, and Stacy Lawrence will present on the following topics: Dandelion themes in the Deaf world, Silent Worker and Deaf Newspapers, and the ASL Poetry movement. This will be at RIT Libraries.

We are pleased to announce that registration for SHARP 2025: Communities and Values of the Book (July 7 - 11) is now open. The SHARP 2025 website has information about registration, including a link to our Eventbrite registration page. Full registration details are here. Please note that early bird registration ends May 1, and the registration deadline is June 9. 

Our website also includes information about accommodations, travel, optional excursions, and the preliminary conference program (attached to this email). Please note that information about on-campus accommodation will be released in late spring. The University of Rochester’s housing office determines this timing.

Please review the preliminary conference program carefully, and notify us as soon as possible if there are any errors in your name, paper title, or panel. This is a preliminary program: we are finalizing the keynote event schedule, session chairs, and other event details. We will send an updated program schedule in the upcoming weeks.

We will also launch a SHARP 2025 Discord server to facilitate ongoing conversation and collaboration for all participants, both in person and remotely.
