Classrooms
Classrooms SHD-4300, SHD-4350, and SHD-3300
Our classrooms are versatile, instruction-focused spaces designed to support active learning, presentations, and collaborative classroom experiences. Each room accommodates up to 150 occupants with fixed seating arrangements consisting of 25 round tables seating six people each. To maintain instructional readiness, furniture layouts are permanent and may not be rearranged or supplemented.
Each classroom is equipped with user-friendly instructional technology, including dual projectors and screens, wireless presentation capability, instructor podiums with laptop connectivity, document cameras, and room cameras that support lecture capture and video conferencing. Picture-in-picture functionality is also available to support interpreters or accessibility accommodations during recorded events and presentations.
While these classrooms may occasionally host special events, they must remain classroom-ready at all times. Food is permitted; however, groups should coordinate with SHED staff in advance regarding food service procedures. Events where food or receptions are a primary component should also reserve the adjacent lobby spaces.
To reserve a classroom, log in to RIT’s Event Management System (EMS), select “Create a Reservation” from the menu on the left, then click the “Book Now” button for “Request Classroom Space” for the appropriate semester.

Classroom SHD-3350
Room 3350 is a tiered classroom designed to support lectures, presentations, and collaborative instruction with a seating capacity of 125. Unlike the SHED’s fixed round-table classrooms, this room offers limited furniture flexibility; however, any adjustments must be coordinated in advance with SHED staff to ensure proper setup and reset.
The classroom includes dual projectors and screens, an instructor podium with a built-in computer and laptop connection, wireless presentation capability, document cameras, and room cameras for lecture capture or video conferencing. The space is designed to provide an intuitive and technology-enhanced instructional environment while supporting accessibility and hybrid engagement needs.
Food is permitted in Room 3350, though groups should consult with SHED staff in advance regarding food procedures. For events centered around receptions or catering, adjacent lobby spaces should also be reserved when possible.
