Sklarsky Glass Box Theater
Part black-box theater and part exhibit venue, the Sklarsky Glass Box Theater is a highly flexible performance and event space designed to support experimental performances, exhibits, lectures, screenings, and large-scale gatherings.
The space accommodates up to 160 occupants seated and features retractable seating, multi-level viewing perspectives, and automated blinds that allow for both natural daylight and full blackout capabilities.
The Glass Box Theater supports a wide range of event configurations, including theater-style seating, banquet layouts, open-floor receptions, and exhibit installations. Built-in theatrical and presentation technology makes the space ideal for performances, immersive experiences, lectures, and multimedia events. Food is permitted (custodial support required), making the venue equally suited for receptions and community gatherings.
To reserve the Sklarsky Glass Box Theater, log in to RIT’s Event Management System (EMS), select “Create a Reservation” from the menu on the left, then click the “Book Now” button for “Request Meeting/Event Space.”

Room Rental (External Guests)
External guests may reserve the Sklarsky Glass Box Theater for approved events. Please contact the Government and Community Relations Events Team for current pricing and availability.

Podium, Lighting and Stage Setup
Additional labor charges may apply for customized lighting, stage deck installation, podium setup, or specialized room configurations.

Furniture and Layout Adjustments
The space supports multiple room layouts, including retractable auditorium seating, banquet configurations, theater seating, and open-floor arrangements. Requests for custom setups must be coordinated in advance through FMS Events and may incur additional labor charges.

Food and Receptions
Food is permitted in the space when the venue is in an open floor arrangement. Groups are responsible for setup and cleanup, and custodial support is required for an additional fee.
