2026 NSF CAREER Workshop Series

The 2026 series of workshops and resources support early-career faculty who are interested in applying to the NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER).  The National Science Foundation describes this award to be for faculty applicants who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Scientists, engineers, and educators (STEM fields) that hold a doctoral degree are eligible to apply. 

The in-person workshop offerings are designed to provide valuable insights and support as faculty prepare competitive proposals for submission.

To opt in to receive workshop calendar invitations and access to the NSF CAREER Resources Google Drive that contains templates, tips, and checklists please complete the registration information below. It is highly recommended, regardless of participation in workshops, that interested CAREER applicants register below to notify their interest to SRS, even before submitting a NOIS. 

Timeline

 

Given the number of proposals to be submitted for this program we ask that you adhere to the following timeline:

May 26, 2026 Deadline to submit a Notice of Intent to Submit Form for your CAREER  proposal. An SRS research administrator will be assigned.
June 5, 2026 If you do not already have an account, create an NSF account and  affiliate with RIT.
June 12, 2026 Create your proposal application in Research.gov and grant AOR  access.
June 26, 2026 Send your (1) Biosketch, (2) Collaborators and Other Affiliations, (3)  Synergistic Activities, (4) Facilities, Equipment and Other Resources, and (5) Department Chair Letter to your research administrator.
July 8, 2026 Route proposal for internal review and approval via Novelution  system. College-wide Novelution training will take place in late June.  This will require a (1) final budget, (2) final budget justification, and  (3) draft of the proposal narrative.
July 15 - 22, 2026 Final submissions will be staggered. Please discuss your submission deadline with your research administrator.

 

NSF CAREER Proposals are due Wednesday, July 22, 2026 by 5pm.
