Bio

Welcome to the Student Health Center! My name is Kelly Read and I am the Student Health Center’s Registered Dietitian (RD). I provide Medical Nutrition Therapy for folks who have health concerns impacting their nutrition and diet. I also offer general nutrition counseling for those who are looking to make healthier lifestyle choices. In addition, I teach a couple of Wellness Education classes, “Everyday Nutrition” and “5 Steps to Prevent Diabetes.”

I love working with college students as this is a pivotal age to develop healthy habits. After working with stroke patients, I found the value in preventive health and nutrition. I truly believe, with the help of good nutrition, you can do small things daily to improve your health and quality of life in the long run. I am passionate about having a healthy relationship with food and your body. I strive to create a non-judgmental space in my sessions—health is personal and looks different for everyone.

I am a proud RIT alum. I graduated in 2016 with my bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Management. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from University at Buffalo, where I also completed my Dietetic Internship. In my free time, I enjoy trying new exercise classes, baking, reading and trying new restaurants.
