Flu vaccine available this week

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend an annual flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease. While there are many different flu viruses, the seasonal flu vaccine is designed to protect against the top three or four flu viruses that are predicted to cause the most illness during the flu season.

The vaccine is available for free to all regular full-time and extended part-time faculty and staff at the following times and locations:

  • 8–11 a.m. Tuesday in the CSD Student Development Center, room 2102
  • 8–11 a.m. Wednesday in the Global Village Wellness Center
  • 7–10 a.m. Thursday in the facilities management building, room 1260

The vaccines will be administered by a Wegmans pharmacist and are completely voluntary. Please walk in during a time and location most convenient for you, (participants do not need to schedule an appointment). If you have questions, please contact Michael Stojkovic at mrspsn@rit.edu.

The vaccine will be available for students in October. For more information, go to the Student Health Center website at the RIT Student Health Center website.
