Figueroa awarded SMPTE Journal Certificate of Merit
Ricky Figueroa, director of the School of Film and Animation and John Traver Professor, was recognized by The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) with the 2025 Journal Certificate of Merit Award for his paper "What electronic image noise signatures can tell us about image linearity and camera encoding." Figueroa’s award was celebrated during a gala on Oct. 16 as part of SMPTE’s annual Media Technology Summit.
