A faculty researcher from Saunders College of Business has conducted a study capturing the public’s pre-event engagement with the 2024 solar eclipse happening across the U.S. next week.

They didn’t know it then, but RIT students taking Debra Meiburg’s wine courses back in the late 1990s were learning from a bona fide master—literally.

Students from RIT's Industrial Design (BFA and MFA) and Master of Architecture programs constructed a large-scale sculpture on the Woodstock music festival grounds for a Hello Wood event. 

When students in RIT’s hospitality and tourism management clubs realized COVID-19 restrictions would prevent them from executing their annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser dinner, they decided to redirect their efforts to give back to the community instead.

Paula Knight, MS (service leadership), program coordinator at Finger Lakes Community College, spoke with 13WHAM about tourism in the Finger Lakes amid the pandemic.

In an unprecedented decision, Saunders College of Business is now accepting applications for fall 2020 graduate education without standardized tests, including Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). The decision was made to benefit graduate school applicants facing uncertainty created by COVID-19 and the closure of standardized testing centers.

At an Oct. 29 celebration at RIT, E. Philip Saunders announced a $7.5 million gift to the business college that bears his name. This transformational gift will be used to help fund a major renovation and expansion of the facilities in Max Lowenthal Hall, home of Saunders College of Business.

SOIS launched the inaugural Napier Leadership Experience with a day-long leadership retreat during which Sharon D. Napier ’04 MS (service leadership and innovation), chair and founder of Partners + Napier, delivered an interactive presentation to the students to show them how to own their personal brands.

RIT hospitality and service systems students returning to campus in the fall will now be part of Saunders College of Business.

Jure Ljubičić wanted to continue his education and was happy to see that RIT Croatia offered a US graduate program, Master of Science Service Leadership and Innovation.
