Virtual Career Weeks

Spring 2021

Week One:
TBD

Week Two:
TBD

Interview Day

The RIT Career Weeks event does not include an Interview Day this upcoming semester, but we encourage employers to continue their recruiting by requesting interview schedules in Career Connect. Learn more about navigating our job search platform and requesting an interview schedule through our Career Connect page

Tracks

Students and employers had access to five tracks during the RIT Career Weeks:

  • Business Processes
  • Computing
  • Creative
  • Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Science & Research

Industry-specific tracks take out the guessing game of whether an employer is hiring for a specific major or if an employer is attracting the right group of students. Employers could select one, or many, of the designated tracks to allow for personalized, targeted virtual recruitment. Students had the ability to clearly see which employers are interested in their majors, and the open positions available.

FAQs

Two weeks during the Fall Semester for employers to host virtual Information Sessions for RIT students.  Due to the current pandemic RIT will not be holding any in-person career fairs or events.  Career Weeks is an alternative opportunity to connect employers and students.

No, there is no cost to host an Information Sessions.  However, employers are responsible for setting up their own virtual platform and sharing links with the Office of Career Services to market to students.

Yes, contact your Account Manager for any other alternate recruiting plans you would like to conduct with RIT.

  1. Business Processes – for positions in operations, marketing, finance, supply chain, communications, HR and other business related Co-op or FT opportunities.
  2. Computing – for positons in hardware, software, data, UX/UI, networking, web and other computing related Co-op or FT opportunities.
  3. Creative – for positions in design, photography, UX/UI, art, animation and other creative related Co-op or FT opportunities.
  4. Engineering – for positions in engineering related fields, manufacturing, hardware and other Co-op or FT opportunities.
  5. Science/Research – for positions in the hard sciences, math, statistics, data, life sciences, and other research related Co-op or FT opportunities.

Yes, if you are interested in targeting students from different Tracks. You can host multiple Information Sessions at the same time or alternate times during these 2 weeks. We would encourage companies to hold different sessions for different Tracks for open positions they are recruiting for.

Due to a limited number of spots, we are restricting the number of info sessions to one per track, per company. However, you’re welcome to set up an additional info session outside the Career Weeks by working with your Account Manager.

Research shows that shorter virtual presentations are better for keeping your audience’s attention. We advise you to limit your presentation to about 30-35 minutes and use the remaining time for questions.  If you would still like to have a longer session, or a complimentary session, we advise you to work with your Account Manager to schedule one outside the Career Weeks.

  1. Sign-in to Career Connect and create an Information Session under the Events tab.
  2. Selected Career Week under the Information Session Type and complete all of the required fields in the event.
  3. Determine the tracks your company is interested presenting in.
  4. Ensure all jobs associated with your Career Weeks event are posted in Career Connect.
