Creative Industry Day

Virtual in 2021

Creative Industry Day is going virtual and, in the spirit of social distancing, we are spreading it out over a week. It all kicks off February 22, 2021!

The event has always had different components, and this year is no different. It is creative team-based, with an emphasis on portfolio reviews, networking, and recruiting. This event is for the College of Art and Design students, and select majors in Golisano College of Computing.

Creative industry professionals will have the opportunity to:
  • Promote their company/agency
  • Impart words of wisdom and career advice (portfolio reviews, panels)
  • See and connect with talent at RIT
  • Actively recruit and pre-select candidates for job openings (co-op/internships and full time)

Prepare your Portfolio

Want to give industry people the chance to preview your work? After December 4, 2020 go ahead and Register to have your work included in the official Creative Industry Student Portfolio Site.

You may get looked at before the event and also by industry folks who may be unable to attend this year’s event — it is excellent exposure. Check out our Portfolio Preparation page if you need to know how to get started.

Update your Resume

This year a resume is required to sign up for portfolio reviews, or to apply for the 15 minute interview schedules. You will also have the option to add your resume to the Creative Industry Day Resume Book that will shared with recruiters. You should have your resume looked over ahead of time, contact your Career Services Coordinator in the Office of Career Services or make an appointment with them through Career Connect. You can also call 475-2301 to make an appointment. Don’t wait until the last minute!

Sign Up for Portfolio Reviews

We will have a range of professionals (many of them alumni) that will give you feedback on starting or improving your portfolio. Low stress as these are reviews only, volunteers are not actively recruiting for an opening. This is also a good opportunity to build your network! Sign ups will be in handled in Career Connect.
