Creative Industry Day
Virtual in 2021
Creative Industry Day is going virtual and, in the spirit of social distancing, we are spreading it out over a week. It all kicks off on February 22, 2021!
The event has always had different components, and this year is no different. It is creative team-based, with an emphasis on portfolio reviews, networking, and recruiting. This event is for the RIT College of Art and Design students, and select majors in Golisano College of Computing.
Creative industry professionals will have the opportunity to:
- Promote their company/agency
- Impart words of wisdom and career advice: 1:1 portfolio reviews, career panels, and programming
- Actively recruit and pre-select candidates for job openings (co-op/internships and full time)
- Connect with talent at RIT through the Creative Industry Day resume book and the Creative Industry Day Portfolio site

Prepare your Portfolio
Increase the odds of creative professionals seeing your work and contacting you about future opportunities. Register to have your work included in the official 2021 Creative Industry Student Portfolio Site, where your work remains for up to one year. Your work may be reviewed before the event and by professionals who are unable to attend this year’s event. Check out our Portfolio Preparation page if you need to know how to get started.
Update your Resume
You will need your resume to apply to job postings and to sign up for companies that choose to handle interviews in Career Connect. You will also have the option to add your resume to the Creative Industry Day Resume Book that will be shared with recruiters. To have your resume reviewed ahead of time, make an appointment with your Career Services Coordinator through RIT Career Connect.
Sign Up for Portfolio Reviews
We will have a range of professionals (many of them alumni) that will give you feedback on starting or improving your portfolio. These are reviews only and a good opportunity to build your network! Sign-ups for a 15-minute review will be in RIT Career Connect on February 24, 25, 26. SIGN UP Feb 10-18.
Apply to Job Postings and Interviews
