Date TBD: Creative Industry Day is visible in Career Connect
Date TBD: Virtual Portfolio Review Sign up - 1 slot only (note: if you sign up for more than one during this time it is up to our discretion to remove you from schedules in order to give as many students access to a review as possible)
Date TBD: Virtual Portfolio Review Sign up - any open slot
Date TBD: Last day to cancel a slot in Career Connect
Note: If you need an interpreter - please request one.
How to Sign Up
- Log in to RIT Career Connect. Go to Events > Info Sessions > keyword search CID. The list of companies/agencies whose areas of expertise/interest match up with your major will be listed. You can open "More Filters" to select "actively recruiting" yes or no. (You may want to have a review with an organization that is not recruiting as there is less pressure and a good chance to network). DO NOT USE Area(s) of Interest as a filter as you will get zero results (it is used for other non-CID info sessions).
- Sign up for a time slot – Select your first choice
Signing up for one slot for the first few days gives as many students as possible the opportunity to meet with an industry professional. Unfortunately, if we see you have signed up with multiple companies, we will remove you from other sign-ups at our discretion. Use Add to Calendar feature. - Sign up for any time slots you are interested in and are still available
- Check your schedule. Each portfolio reviewer is providing their own virtual meeting links (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) OR they may have picked the on-campus option in the Bausch & Lomb Center. The description for each info session will contain the link you will use to connect with them at the time/day you signed up for. You can check RIT Career Connect > Events > Info Sessions > “Attendance” drop down, select “Attending or waitlisted” to see what you have signed up for at any time. Pay attention to system emails that will confirm your sign-ups and include the virtual meeting link.
After sign-up ends, you can see what day(s) companies are conducting reviews, but not individual sign-ups:
- Log in to Career Connect
- Click on Events
- Click on When
- Click on Coming Up
To cancel a review:
By signing up, you are expected to follow through and meet with your reviewer. They are giving their time, so be respectful and do not be a "no-show." Once sign-ups have ended, you cannot log in and cancel your sign-up.
- Log in to Career Connect
- Go to Events
- From “Attendance” drop down, select “Attending or waitlisted”
- Click on the session you wish to cancel
- From the results, you will see a green banner with the link to “cancel”
Please email ocecid@rit.edu to let us know if you are not able to meet with your reviewer; they have received their schedule of reviews and we will need to alert them about cancellations.
Virtual Portfolio Reviews
Each portfolio reviewer is providing their own virtual meeting links (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). The link is available provided in Career Connect and in reminder system messages.
On Campus Portfolio Reviews
Some reviewers choose to come on campus to review portfolios. Here is your opportunity to meet with creative industry professionals in-person to show your work - same sign up instructions, just pay attention to location. Dress professionally, bring your laptop/tablet to show your portfolio. Good idea to bring copies of your resume. This visual portfolio-based event is for RIT students/alumni only.
