Virtual 1:1 Portfolio Reviews

These 15-minute time blocks with industry professionals are a great opportunity to network and receive feedback. Once you sign up, please be professional and show up for each of the times you have signed up for.

Sign Up Dates

January 12, 2024: Reviewers/Companies visible to students
January 16-17, 2024: Starting at 7:00 a.m. Sign up for one time slot with ONE industry professional (this allows for as many students as possible to have a portfolio review).
January 18-21, 2024: Sign up for any open time slot (be careful not to double-book yourself).
January 22, 2024: Schedules finalized

How to Sign Up

  1. Log in to RIT Career Connect. Go to Events > Info Sessions > keyword search CID. The list of companies/agencies whose areas of expertise/interest match up with your major will be listed. You can open up "More Filters" to select "actively recruiting" yes or no. (You may want to have a review with an organization that is not recruiting as there is less pressure and a good chance to network). DO NOT USE Area(s) of Interest as a filter as you will get zero results (it is used for other non-CID info sessions).
  2. Sign up for a time slot (January 16-17) – Select your first choice
Signing up for one slot for the first few days gives as many students as possible the opportunity to meet with an industry professional. Unfortunately, if we see you have signed up for multiple companies, we will remove you from other sign-ups at our discretion. Use Add to Calendar feature.
  3. Sign up for any time slots you are interested in and are still available (January 18-21)
  4. Check your schedule. Each portfolio reviewer is providing their own virtual meeting links (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). The description for each info session will contain the link you will use to connect with them at the time/day you signed up for. You can check RIT Career Connect > Events > Info Sessions > “Attendance” drop down, select “Attending or waitlisted” to see what you have signed up for at any time. Pay attention to system emails that will confirm your sign-ups and include the virtual meeting link.

After sign up ends you can see what day(s) companies are conducting reviews, but not individual sign-ups:

  1. Log into Career Connect
  2. Click on Events
  3. Click on When
  4. Click on Coming Up

To cancel a review:
By signing up, you are expected to follow through and meet with your reviewer. They are giving their time, so good to be respectful and not be a "no-show". Once sign-ups have ended, you do not have the ability to login and cancel your own sign up. After January 21, please email to let us know if you are not able to meet with your reviewer because they have received their schedule of reviews and we will need to alert them about cancellations. The system does not allow you to cancel your own after sign-ups have ended.

Cancelling before January 21, 2024 in Career Connect:

  1. Login to Career Connect
  2. go to Events
  3. from “Attendance” drop down, select “Attending or waitlisted”
  4. click on the session you wish to cancel
  5. from the results you will see a green banner with the link to “cancel”
