RIT Croatia announces the winners of the Web and Mobile Computing Scholarship Competition

The Web and Mobile Computing Scholarship Competition at RIT Croatia brought together talented high school students eager to take their first step into the world of tech. Organized in collaboration with Lovable, the competition invited participants to showcase their creativity, problem-solving, and technical thinking through real-world challenges.

After an initial selection process, nine finalists advanced to the final round, where they developed app concepts addressing everyday problems. Each participant selected one of three challenges: “Empty the Fridge,” which focuses on reducing food waste by suggesting meals based on available ingredients; “The Mood Journal,” a tool for tracking students’ emotional well-being through quick daily check-ins; and “Split the Bill,” a simple solution for fairly dividing shared expenses among a group.

Finalists presented their solutions in front of an expert jury composed of the Web and Mobile Computing faculty members: Instructor Belma Jakupović, Dr. Kristina Marasović, Dr. Branko Mihaljević, Dr. Alan Mutka, Dr. Domagoj Tolić, and Dr. Martin Žagar.

After careful evaluation, we are proud to announce the winners of the WMC Scholarship Competition:

• 1st prize – scholarship in the amount of 15,600 EUR – awarded to Daron Ljubić (Challenge 3: Split the Bill)
• 2nd prize – scholarship in the amount of 10,000 EUR – awarded to Hana Đapić (Challenge 1: Empty the Fridge)
• 3rd prize – scholarship in the amount of 8,000 EUR – awarded to Nicky Kegalj (Challenge 2: The Mood Journal)
• 4th prize – scholarship in the amount of 4,000 EUR – awarded to Manuel Radaljac (Challenge 1: Empty the Fridge)
• 5th prize – scholarship in the amount of 4,000 EUR – awarded to Tara Delić (Challenge 1: Empty the Fridge)

All scholarships are awarded for the Web and Mobile Computing program and are distributed across four years of study.

We congratulate all winners and finalists on their outstanding performance, as well as all applicants who showed initiative and courage to take on this challenge. We look forward to following their future achievements and the impact they will make in the tech industry!
