As a Digital Marketing Intern at Oticon Medical, Sarah Sabal combined her passion for communication and accessibility to support marketing efforts for hearing implant devices. Her work helped her gain real-world experience in digital marketing strategy while allowing her to connect personally with the community Oticon serves.

"The Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for supporting Oticon Medical’s day-to-day execution of online and social media activities and assisting in the development of B2C emails. This includes coordination and development of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram content calendars for consumer audiences, creating ideas for and writing B2C blog posts, responding to comments and requests for assistance in the Oticon Medical Friends Community and direct messages, and assisting with other digital marketing activities as needed.
I worked for 15 weeks with Oticon Medical, a medical manufacturing company distributing hearing implant devices (Pontos) to clients with hearing loss. I enjoyed interacting with my co-workers and meeting people who have hearing losses. It’s inspiring for me to meet and share my experience as a deaf person who wears Oticon Medical’s Ponto devices and is successful in life. I truly learned a lot and made many wonderful memories."
