A select summer program for incoming freshmen in the RIT College of Science
The Fast Forward program, also known as "F2," provides a small group of freshmen with exposure to scientific theory and application skills to help students understand and address research questions.
Students will work will contribute to a faculty member's research program through a laboratory experience.
The tentative schedule is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday including a Monday morning meeting of all participants following by morning and afternoon research sessions with the faculty mentor.
At least one trip will be scheduled for all participants during the second or third week. Transportation and other costs will be covered by the Fast Forward program.
Participants will earn one research credit toward their RIT degree.
Students will earn an hourly wage of $9 for up to thirty hours of research each week for a total of 120 hours and $1,080.
Housing is not available to metropolitan Rochester–area residents. Each participant will be responsible for transportation to and from campus each day.
