The Integrated Sciences Academy, which houses the college’s science exploration option, brings together multiple areas of expertise within the college to create new approaches to solving complex scientific problems facing society today. The academy supports the college’s multidisciplinary academic majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels, encourages cross-disciplinary approaches to problem solving, and fosters research collaborations throughout the college.
Current programs include Science Exploration, a first-year program that allows students to gain hands-on experience across the range of scientific disciplines in order to best select a major, and the Program of Color Science, which includes M.S. and Ph.D. tracks that explore all aspects of color from lighting, through material properties, to human perception. The ISA also houses the Munsell Color Science Laboratory, a pre-eminent academic laboratory dedicated exclusively to the science of color.
