Study Abroad Fair – Annual Event in the Fall Semester

The Study Abroad Fair is an opportunity to gather information from international program providers, learn about RIT opportunities, get questions answered, and identify resources available to jump-start an international experience. It is also a great time to compare various providers' programs and learn more about upcoming programs.

Fall 2025 Study Abroad Fair

Enter to Win a FREE Passport
The RIT Study Abroad office will give away 10 Passport Grants, which will fully cover the cost of a U.S. passport at the RIT Passport Drive on Nov. 8th. Stop by the fair welcome table to enter. Eligibility requirements apply to enter.

• CIS Abroad - a variety of programs and locations
• CIEE - variety of programs and locations (many great scholarship opportunities for RIT students)
• DIS Abroad - programs in Denmark and Sweden
• IES Abroad - a variety of programs and locations
• SAI - programs in Italy, Spain, and France (liberal arts, art, design, business)
• SUNY Oswego Study Abroad - a variety of programs and locations
• Syracuse Study Abroad - a variety of programs and locations
• School for Field Studies - science-based field study and research programs
• Sea Education Association - science-based field study at sea
• RIT Global Campuses (Croatia, Dubai, Kosovo)
• RIT Co-op & Career Services - learn about international co-op opportunities
• College-specific tables will showcase RIT faculty-led and exchange programs

Make The Most of the Fair!

To make the most of the fair, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

BEFORE THE FAIR:

• Watch this short video about Study Abroad at RIT
• Before the fair, do some research to understand the different types of study abroad programs. Learn about different program types here.
• Visit the Your Major Abroad section of our website
• Consider your priorities when choosing a program (e.g., language of instruction, program length, cultural immersion, and cost).
• Start learning about the organizations attending and do some basic research on their programs (see list above)

AT THE FAIR:

• Start by checking with your college table to determine which programs work best for your major and college-specific considerations for studying abroad. Also, visit other college tables offering programs for your minor, immersion, or electives.
• Have some questions ready to ask our visiting providers:
  • What kinds of programs do you have for (ex. Engineering) majors?
  • What kinds of programs do you have to (ex. Australia)?
  • Do you offer internship opportunities? Are they paid or unpaid? How many work hours?
  • What types of housing options are available? Apartments, dorms, homestays (staying with a local family)?
  • What would the application requirements be?
  • Will I be studying with other US students or local students?
  • Do you offer scholarships for your programs?

Hear from other students. Our Global Ambassadors (returned study abroad students) will be at the fair and are happy to answer questions about their experience.

AFTER THE FAIR

• Login to the Compass to search for study abroad programs.
• Attend a Study Abroad 101 meeting
• Attend specific program info. sessions for your college or program you are interested in.
