The Hilltop Elementary Sign
Choir of Beachwood, Ohio, made history in April when the group performed
the National Anthem in American Sign Language before the Cleveland Indians’
baseball game with the Minnesota Twins.
Tony La Perna Jr. ’91
(educational interpreting) is director of the 80-member choir and an
educational interpreter in the Beachwood City Schools in suburban Cleveland.
The choir has performed in many community venues.
