Robert Kiger '70 (GAP) was commissioned shortly after graduation by the American Society of Cinematographers to do a comprehensive study of the emerging art and science of video production and post production. His article in the October 1972 issue of American Cinematographer Magazine presented the first-known use of the word "videography." Today he is "blogmeister" of www.videographyblog.com, a Web site dedicated to advancing a more scholarly definition for videography.

Howard Goodman '81 (GAP) , who owns and operates a catalog, still-life, and repro photography studio in Peekskill, N.Y., has received an artist residency in Kyoto, Japan's historic artist district, Nishijin, and a researcher/visiting artist position at Seika University, also in Kyoto, beginning in spring 2006.
