Winners of RIT photo contest for young artists announced
Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences (SPAS) has named the winners of its annual Instagram photography contest.
This year’s RIT Photo Prize contest generated more than 1,000 submissions from high school and community college students all over, with the juried panel of SPAS faculty selecting an Image of Excellence winner and four Images of Distinction. The contest was created to discover, support and promote the next generation of image makers. Prizes for the winners included a Canon camera kit with two lenses, Lomography Diana cameras and film and swag from Kodak.

Ahndraya Parlato named a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation
The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has awarded Senior Lecturer Ahndraya Parlato a 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship. According to the foundation, this year’s fellowships were granted to a “distinguished and diverse group of culture-creators working across 52 disciplines.”
