ID Sophomore Studio – Scoops
Scoop is a toy designed to help children learn different motions while having fun.
This is a 5-week project developed in ID Sophomore Studio, consisting of two phases:
Part I – students created and prototyped an intuitive object to evoke an expected given interaction (shake, twist, lock).
Part II – they teamed up to design a toy for toddlers that are learning the developmental skills required to perform the given actions.
The process involved observations, ideation, in-store benchmarking, critical form making, testing the form's intuitiveness, and iterative prototyping.
