Other Operating Systems

RIT\GCCIS provides access to our faculty and students to many different operating systems and virtual environments.

These include:

• RedHat (campus site license for RIT and home use)
• MacOS (for RIT owned equipment)
• Other Linux Operating systems

Red Hat

To get access to your personal Red Hat keys for home use and while a student taking current classes at RIT, visit [[1]]

MacOS

• Not supported for personal devices

Other Linux OS

You may access other Linux Operating Systems directly through the open source sites or through mirrors.rit.edu

Faculty: Operating Systems

Red Hat

For faculty \ staff devices used for research and curriculum, please contact your area system administrator to ensure we provide you with the correct tools to meet your needs.

Mac

RIT machines DO NOT currently support the Big Sur. The currently supported OS is Catalina.

Please contact gccisit@rit.edu before upgrading your OS.

Other Linux OS
