The new Camp Tiger 2026 Camp Guide will be posted shortly.
When can I drop off my camper? And when can I pick them up.
Drop-Off is between 8:15am to 9am. The Camp Tiger program begins at 9am and ends at 3:30pm. Campers need to be picked up between 3:30pm to 5pm. Homebase building location to be announced.
Do I need to walk my camper into the building every day?
It is not necessary to walk your camper into the homebase building, located in Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences (GCCIS). We will have staff outside to make sure all campers get to where they need to go. If you do decide to park your car, please do so in J Lot and leave your emergency flashers on your car, so RIT Parking Services knows you are there temporarily.
Can someone else besides me pick up my camper?
Yes. A legal guardian will need to notify camp administration to give someone else permission to pick up your camper. All adults picking up children from the camp must show either a driver's license, RIT Id, or legal photo document each day. This is for the protection of minors to ensure their safety.
My camper doesn't like the program they signed up for. Can they switch?
It depends on the circumstances and what program they would want to switch to. Spaces fill up in the programs, and we have limited capacity. Please contact camp administration to discuss options.
My camper is younger than 14, but I want them to self-sign-out. Is this possible?
No. This guideline has been put in place as part of RIT's effort to protect minors on campus.
Is there extended day care for children?
There is no longer an extended day care option for early or late drop-off or pick-up. For the 2026 summer camp season, the schedule has been lengthened to include extended instruction time and flexible pick-up between 3:30pm to 5pm each day.
I work on campus. Can my camper walk to my office?
For youth 14 and over, they may walk to their family member's office as long as the legal guardian has completed a self-sign out form. For youth 13 years old and under, the legal guardian may complete a campus drop-off form, and camp staff member will escort the child(ren) to their family member on campus.
Can my camper bring their own lunch?
Yes, but it must be peanut and nut-free. We are also unable to provide refrigeration. A buffet-style meal is offered as part of the summer camp registration, and a menu will be provided to families prior to the start of their camp program. Vegetarian options are provided on the buffet.
I need to pick up my camper early or drop them off late. What is the procedure for this?
Campers are always picked up and dropped off at camp homebase building in GCCIS. When possible, please let camp administration know about early departures in advance, so we can arrange for your child to be ready. Unless the camper has been authorized for self-sign out, an authorized person will need to come into the building to sign them in or out for the day. You may park in J Lot, and please leave your emergency flashers on your car so RIT Parking Services knows you are parking temporarily.
What is the refund policy?
Much of the cost to operate Camp Tiger is incurred prior to the camp session beginning, therefore the $75 administrative fee is non-refundable, even for reasons beyond control, and the camp is unable to operate this summer. RIT Pre-College Programs, Camp Tiger is not liable if it cannot operate due to circumstances beyond its control, such as weather, sickness outbreak, power outage, disaster, or any situation that would impact camper and staff safety. Camp Tiger is not obligated to refund any camp fees due to these circumstances. Families will be notified immediately if a closure occurs through email.
All cancellations must be received by May 31st to be eligible for a full refund (minus the non-refundable $75 administrative fee).
From June 1st to ten days prior to the camp session families may receive 50% refund, minus the $75 non-refundable administrative fee. (Example: Camp Session starts on July 27th, to be eligible for 50% refund camp must be notified before July 17th to be considered for the refund. Cancellations from camp made on or after July 17th will not receive a refund.)
Less than ten days prior to the start of the camp session, or no shows for camp, are not issued a refund for the session.
Please contact the helpline at camptiger@rit.edu for assistance with refunds or switching workshops.
Does Camp Tiger dispense medication or first aid?
Unfortunately, we are unable to administer any prescription or over-the-counter medication brought to Camp Tiger. If parents/guardian approves of the camper to self-administer medication in case of emergency (such as an epi-pen, inhaler), Camp Tiger administration must be notified on the camp registration. For any medical attention needed while at camp, the camper’s emergency contact will be notified.
