The K-12 University Center at Rochester Institute of Technology administers the Science and Technology Entry Program in collaboration with schools in Greece and Rush-Henrietta central school districts, Rochester City School District, and Vertus and Rochester Prep charter high schools. Funded by the New York State Education Department, RIT STEP serves more than 300 youth annually.
Program Overview
To increase the number of economically disadvantaged students and others prepared to enter college, and improve their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and the licensed professions.
STEP Improves Student Readiness:
- Enriches science and mathematics instruction
- Provides laboratories for supervised training in research method
- Conducts summer programs
- Provides standardized test preparation and practice
- Assists students with the college application process
