Job Profile –
Academic Advisor– Full-Time Position (starting date April 1, 2025)


RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) is seeking to hire a dedicated and motivated Academic Advisor for a full-time role. The Academic Advisor will report directly to the Head of Academic Services and will primarily be responsible for advising students in alignment with the RIT curriculum, providing guidance on academic planning, and supporting students’ educational goals.

POSITION SUMMARY

Academic Advisors’ function is to take a student-centered approach that enriches student learning and development in preparation for success in a diverse global society. This position will help develop, implement, and manage academic advisement for RIT Kosovo students and will participate in developing strategies that will enhance retention and promote students’ connection to their academic program as well as the university.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree required.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing in both, English and Albanian. Knowledge of Serbian would be an advantage.
  • Experience with the American higher education system and American educational institutions.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills that exhibit positive regard, care, concern, and respect for students, families, and colleagues.
  • Relevant work experience in a higher education environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong commitment to supporting all levels and backgrounds of students.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and in-person) to a broad constituency, including administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents.  
  • Working knowledge of effective decision-making and conflict-resolution techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and sustain an extensive workload within a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain awareness of institutional information including academic requirements, new programs, course changes, deadlines, costs, and transfer requirements.
  • Advise students to develop their long-range goals and plans of academic study, including as applicable: co-op or internship work and/or study abroad opportunities.
  • Review and update degree audits promptly, including evaluating and determining the transfer of credits; Participate in the degree certification process as assigned.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation of the academic advisement program’s goals and objectives.
  • Participate in departmental and other committees as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Development Specialist – Full-Time Position

About RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.)

RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.) is seeking a motivated and results-driven Development Specialist to enhance its fundraising efforts and donor engagement. This role plays a key part in securing financial support through strategic fundraising initiatives, strengthening relationships with donors, and expanding philanthropic opportunities for institutional growth.

Position Summary

The Development Specialist will lead donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and grant proposals while ensuring compliance with financial guidelines. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the role requires strong relationship-building, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Donor Research & Prospecting

  • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with prospective donors, including alumni, government agencies, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
  • Prepare compelling grant applications, funding proposals, and sponsorship requests.
  • Develop customized scholarship proposals and donor agreements aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Manage donor stewardship, ensuring regular updates on project milestones and impact.
  • Collaborate with the Scholarship Committee and relevant departments to ensure transparent fund allocation.

2. Fundraising Campaign Development & Execution

  • Design and implement annual giving campaigns, online fundraising initiatives, and donor engagement programs.
  • Work with the PR and Marketing Department to create promotional materials for fundraising initiatives.
  • Organize key fundraising events, including sponsorship packages, logistics, and donor relations.
  • Leverage digital tools, social media, and CRM systems to enhance donor engagement.
  • Develop corporate sponsorship packages and establish industry partnerships.
  • Educate donors on tax advantages related to charitable contributions.

3. Fundraising Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Track fundraising expenses and prepare post-event financial reports.
  • Maintain and analyze donor contribution trends to optimize fundraising strategies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for major fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and data protection laws in Kosovo, the U.S., and international jurisdictions.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with proposal writing, CRM systems, and digital fundraising tools.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects effectively.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • CFRE certification or equivalent credentials.
  • Knowledge of tax benefits for charitable contributions.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends for fundraising events.

RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) is a private, not-for-profit undergraduate institution. It is a leading institution of higher education in Southeast Europe and offers degrees in Applied Arts and Science and Computational Information Technology through its partner institution, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York. The RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) campus is located in Prishtina, Kosovo’s capital and largest city.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Information Technology or a related field. The appointed faculty will be required to teach undergraduate courses in Database and Data Modeling, Programming for IT, Computer System Fundamentals, Client and Server-Side Programming, Routing, and Switching, etc.
