    Creating Change Through Innovation: The Entrepreneurial Path of our Alumnus, Fidan Hallaqi (BS ’08)

    Fidan Hallaqi (BS ’08) is an accomplished entrepreneur and a proud graduate of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K). Since his graduation in 2008, he has made significant contributions in various fields, including business consultancy, international development projects, and more recently, entrepreneurship.

    Throughout his career, Fidan's passion for innovation and his unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact on his community have been driving forces throughout his career. He actively participated in numerous international development projects in Kosovo through the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation (KCSF) for over a decade.

    Our Alumni Introducing GiFi to Southeast Europe

    Congratulations to our alumni brothers, Gojart Shaqiri (BS ’08) and Drenas Shaqiri (BS ’11), for bringing the renowned French brand GiFi to Kosovo, marking its debut in Southeastern Europe in November this year.

    Gojart and Drenas began their entrepreneurial journey while still students at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), leading to the establishment of five companies with diverse portfolios, contributing significantly to Kosovo's economic landscape. They are also the leading force behind some of the most well recognized companies in Kosovo: Aztech, Galeria Shopping Mall, Greyder, Entertainment Kosova, Euro 1.

    Experiential learning has become a cornerstone of modern education, emphasizing the importance of gaining practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge. Recognizing this significance, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) provides its students with the opportunity to embark on co-op experiences, enabling them to gain professional exposure at prestigious private and public companies, as well as institutions. This commitment to experiential learning has yielded remarkable success stories, such as the experiences of Viola Osmani and Jolanda Sekiraqa, who are currently working for Solutions25.

    Our Alumna, Anila Qehaja (BS ’15) Bridging the Gap between Crisis Response and Sustainable Development at the United Nations

    Anila Qehaja (BS ’15) who works as Information Management Specialist at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York.

    She works on crisis response and recovery, mainly evaluating the impact of conflicts and disasters on people, livelihoods, and infrastructure. She supports governments and UNDP country offices with real-time data for rapid decision-making to assist affected populations.
