RIT-K CIT Research Team recognized at International Conference on Data Analytics & Management by London Metropolitan University, UK
We are proud to share that the research paper titled “Cybersecurity in Space Exploration: Protecting Satellites and Space Missions” has been accepted for presentation at the 6th International Conference on Data Analytics & Management (ICDAM-2025). This international conference will be hosted by London Metropolitan University, UK, in partnership with WSG University (Poland), Portalegre Polytechnic University (Portugal), and SGGW Management Institute (Poland). The event will be held from June 13th to 15th, 2025, and the proceedings will be published by Springer and indexed in Scopus.
This impactful paper is the result of a collaborative effort among researchers prof. Blerta Prevalla Etemi, Dalina Canhasi, Olti Haxhiavdyli and prof. Debabrata Samanta.
The work focuses on the increasingly vital topic of cybersecurity in the realm of space technology, particularly in protecting satellites and space missions from cyber threats.
With the rapid expansion of space exploration initiatives—both governmental and private—ensuring the security of orbital systems has become a global priority. The paper analyzes current vulnerabilities in satellite communications, mission control, and space-based data systems, while offering strategic frameworks for preventing and mitigating cyberattacks in this uniquely complex environment.
This recognition at ICDAM 2025 affirms the strength of international collaboration and the relevance of forward-thinking research. Special acknowledgment goes to Olti Haxhiavdyli, the student researcher whose work significantly contributed to the depth and innovation of the paper, as well as to the collective insight and effort brought forth by Dalina Canhasi and the co-authors.
We congratulate the entire team on this achievement and look forward to the presentation of this important research on a global academic stage.
