If your stay in Kosovo will exceed 90 days, you are required to apply for a temporary residence permit from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
You will need to submit the following documents:
- A valid passport
- Employment confirmation from RIT Kosovo
- RIT Kosovo’s Business Registration Certificate (provided by our office)
- Proof of accommodation in Kosovo
- Health insurance
- Police clearance certificate from your home country (only required for first-time applications)
- An authorized translation in Albanian or Serbian, notarized by a local notary office, of your most recent academic diploma.
Renewal Applications:
The length of the temporary residence permit depends on the duration of your employment contract and can be granted for up to one year (no more than one year) at a time.
To reapply for a residence permit, you will need:
- A valid passport
- Your current Kosovo ID
- A police background check from Kosovo
- Updated employment documents (if applicable)
Please note:
- Renewal must be initiated at least one month before your current permit expires
- The issuance of a new residence permit card typically takes 4–6 weeks
Important:
If you fail to apply for renewal on time, a late application fee of €100 may apply. Depending on the length of the delay, you may also face legal consequences, including possible deportation.
