AI Research Team from RITK-CIT Shines at the 2nd Edition of the Western Balkans Innovation Summit

We are delighted to share that the AI research team from RIT Kosovo (CIT) made a remarkable contribution at the 2nd edition of the Western Balkans Innovation Summit (WBIS 2025), held on April 17, 2025, and organized by Western Balkans University in Tirana, Albania. Dr. Debabrata Samanta was invited as a distinguished speaker at the summit, where he delivered an insightful talk on “AI-Driven Innovations: Bridging Challenges and Opportunities in Emerging Ecosystems.” His presentation emphasized the transformative power of artificial intelligence in driving innovation, tackling societal challenges, and unlocking new opportunities in emerging economies.In addition to his keynote address, Dr. Samanta also participated in a high-level panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence and Challenges in the Ecosystem,” alongside a dynamic group of AI and innovation leaders from across the region and beyond.

A highlight of the summit was the active participation of Qazim Dervishi, a talented student from CIT, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.), who demonstrated an innovative AI Cooking Software in front of over 100 international participants. His presentation met with enthusiasm and admiration, showcasing the practical applications of AI in everyday life.

The summit served as an exceptional platform for researchers, thought leaders, industry professionals, and policymakers to collaborate, share ideas, and explore the role of AI in shaping the future of the Western Balkans and beyond.
