RIT Kosovo Faculty and Student Present Cutting-Edge Research at the University of Seville, Spain

Professor Debabrata Samanta, Program Head and Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing and Information Technologies at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), was invited as a distinguished speaker at the Departamento de Lenguajes y Sistemas Informáticos, Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, on March 25, 2025. During his invited talk, titled “Revolutionizing Healthcare Through Real-Time Virtual Reality and Machine Learning Integration,” Professor Samanta explored how immersive technologies and intelligent systems are transforming the healthcare landscape.

He demonstrated how real-time virtual reality environments—integrated with machine learning models—can be used for surgical training, patient rehabilitation, pain management, and remote diagnostics. His insights emphasized the potential of cognitive AI to provide personalized, adaptive healthcare experiences while enhancing clinical decision-making.

The session was further enriched by Drit Dule, a talented CIT student from RIT Kosovo, who delivered a focused discussion on “Artificial Intelligence in Radiology.” Drit highlighted the growing role of AI algorithms in detecting and diagnosing abnormalities from medical imaging data such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. His presentation emphasized the improved speed and accuracy AI brings to radiological assessments and its potential to assist radiologists in identifying early signs of diseases like cancer, strokes, and neurological disorders. The event was met with great interest and enthusiasm from faculty and students at the University of Seville. It opened up avenues for academic collaboration and underlined RIT Kosovo’s commitment to fostering innovation and global engagement in the field of healthcare technology.
