Incoming Erasmus+ Faculty and Staff
RIT Kosovo welcomes Erasmus+ Faculty and Staff exchange
Every year, through the Erasmus+ Mobility programme RIT Kosovo welcomes staff members from our partner universities. RIT Kosovo provides our partners with the opportunity to carry out staff mobility for both teaching and/or training purposes. Information for Incoming Staff members from Programme Countries Incoming visitors wishing to participate in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme at for teaching or training activities must be individually accepted by a staff member in the host department, who is responsible for organizing the teaching or training activities. Acceptance is dependent on all three parties in advance i.e. the participant; the sending institution; and the host department.
Agreement for hosting staff members is dependent on:
- Agreeing in advance to the content of the teaching/training plan
- The timing of mobility
- The presence of a signed Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional agreement
Staff Mobility for Training
- You are requested to send your request via email to llatifi@auk.org
- When you request training mobility, a clear indication of the area of interest and any available dates are required. The Erasmus Coordinator in charge of incoming staff considers its relevance and benefit. This decision is based on the collaboration and agreements between both HEIs.
- If your request is considered, it is forwarded to the department concerned. Requests with which RIT Kosovo has an Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement with are given priority.
- Once your request is accepted by the department concerned, you are informed by the Erasmus coordinator of the outcome of your application.
- You are responsible for informing the Erasmus coordinator of any invitation letters or documents that need to be compiled before your visit.
- The department concerned is responsible for making the necessary arrangements for the dates of your visit and for coordinating your mobility while ensuring that your expectations are met.
Staff Mobility for Teaching
- You are requested to send your request via email to llatifi@auk.org
- A request for teaching mobility can only be considered and processed if there is an Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement in place in the area of interest between both HEIs.
- Your request should include your CV, the area of interest, the topics that you would like to deliver and your proposed periods for the mobility.
- If your request is considered, it is forwarded to the Area Heads as well as the department concerned.
- Once your request is accepted by the Area Head and department concerned, you are informed by the Erasmus coordinator of the outcome of your application.
- You are responsible for informing the Erasmus coordinator of any invitation letters or documents that need to be compiled before your visit.

1. Visa Information
Visa-Exempt Countries
Citizens of the following countries can enter Kosovo without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period:
- European Union and Schengen Area countries
- United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and others
Citizens of Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia may enter Kosovo using a valid biometric ID card instead of a passport.
Who Needs a Visa?
Nationals from certain countries require a visa to enter Kosovo. These include (but are not limited to):
- Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, China, Cuba, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Vietnam, and others

2. Housing
Accommodation arrangements will be coordinated by the designated staff member responsible for student mobilities. However, as this information may not be immediately available, students are strongly encouraged to explore housing options independently in the meantime.

7. Transportation in Prishtina
Getting around Prishtina is simple and affordable for students:
Buses
- Public buses are the most common form of local transport.
- A one-way ticket costs €0.50.
- Buses operate frequently throughout the day and cover most areas of the city, including routes near the RIT Kosovo campus.
Taxis
- Taxis are widely available across the city.
- The starting fare is typically €2.00, with additional charges based on distance.
- Most taxis are metered, and many drivers speak basic English.
