Spotlight on Object Detection Research team: Research Paper Accepted in IEEE

Erza Kelmendi and Korab Jashari, students in Computing and Information Technologies (BS) at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), have successfully completed research on Deep Neural Networks: Improved Object Detection for Autonomous Vehicles, under the guidance of Dr. Debabrata Samanta. The research focuses on enhancing object detection in autonomous vehicles using advanced deep neural network techniques. As autonomous transportation technology continues to grow, the need for precise, reliable object detection systems is critical. This research addresses current limitations in object detection performance, proposing solutions that strengthen accuracy, reliability, and real-world application, thereby contributing to the future development of safer autonomous vehicle systems. The research work has been accepted for at the 2025 International Conference on Intelligent and Cloud Computing (ICoICC) supported by IEEE and indexed in Scopus. Special acknowledgment is extended to Dr. Debabrata Samanta for his guidance throughout the research process, to Dean Albina Balidemaj, Ph.D., for her consistent support and encouragement, and to Professor Lavon Bajrami for facilitating access to necessary lab resources. This achievement reflects RIT Kosovo’s ongoing commitment to fostering high-quality undergraduate research and advancing innovation in computing and information technologies.
