RIT Kosovo Welcomes Dr. Leonita Mazrekaj as New Faculty Member

RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Leonita Mazrekaj as a new faculty member.

Dr. Mazrekaj earned her PhD in Economics at the University of Graz (Karl-Franzens, Institute of Public Economics) and completed a postdoctoral degree at the University of Vienna. She also holds a master’s degree in Economics and International Cooperation from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” and a master’s degree in Management from the University of Prishtina.

She has participated in multiple international research projects, including CEEPUS and Erasmus+, and was a recipient of the Heras+ scholarship funded by OeAD. For over a decade, Dr. Mazrekaj has served as a full-time academic staff member at the University of Peja “Haxhi Zeka,” building a strong foundation in teaching and research. She also holds a Teaching Fellow position at Charles University in Prague (CERGE-EI) and is a certified trainer in economics pedagogy through the Economics Fundamentals Initiative (EFI), contributing to improved teaching methodologies in Kosovo’s universities.

Her research and publications focus on development economics, gender economics, and human capital, reflecting her dedication to addressing key economic and social challenges.

At RIT Kosovo, Dr. Mazrekaj is committed to equipping students with the analytical tools and critical perspectives needed to engage with complex global economic issues.
