RIT Kosovo Welcomes Drita Bruqi Kabashi as New Faculty Member
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.) is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Drita Bruqi Kabashi as a new faculty member in the field of Themes in the History of Art.
Mrs. Kabashi is an actor, art historian, and writer whose interdisciplinary practice explores the intersections of genealogy, diaspora, collective identity, and memory. She holds a BFA in Drama from New York University and an MA in Art History from the University of Illinois Chicago, where her scholarship focused on ancient Albanian art and its mobilization in contemporary contexts.
Her professional achievements include leading the digitization of the permanent archaeological collection at the National Museum of Kosova and her current role as Editor-in-Chief of The Gallery View, published by the National Gallery of Kosova. She has also worked as a consultant with the United Nations Development Programme in Kosovo on regulating creative industries, collaborating with cultural, governmental, and private sectors. Her research has been published in Kosova Anthropologica and presented internationally.
Beyond her academic work, Mrs. Kabashi has acted in film and theatre, recorded original music, and is writing a forthcoming poetry collection, Landscapes of Fragmentation.
At RIT Kosovo, Mrs. Kabashi is committed to bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to the classroom, helping students engage critically and creatively with art and history.
