RIT Kosovo Graduate Iliriana Bunjaku Earns International Recognition for Leadership Excellence

RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of alumna Iliriana Bunjaku, whose distinguished military career and international recognition continue to inspire current and future students.

Commissioned as an officer from the Kosovo Centre for University Studies in 2019, Iliriana began her career as an Infantry Platoon Commander, demonstrating strong leadership from the outset. A graduate of RIT Kosovo, where she earned a degree in Public Policy and Governance with a minor in International Relations, Iliriana credits her academic experience as a key foundation for her professional success.

Her journey reached a historic milestone following her training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, one of the world’s most prestigious military institutions. There, Iliriana became the first international woman to be awarded the International Sword of Honor - an esteemed recognition granted for exceptional leadership, performance, and endurance among officer cadets.

Today, Iliriana serves in Special Operations as a Civil Affairs Company Commander. In this role, she leads critical missions focused on strengthening cooperation with civilian authorities and international partners, contributing to humanitarian support efforts, disaster response, and long-term stability operations.
