RIT Kosovo Student Erza Suma Embarks on a Year-Long Global Scholar Experience at RIT Main Campus
🌍 Rochester, NY – 2024-2025
As part of the Global Scholars program, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) student Erza Suma, majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies with a minor in Psychology, is spending a full academic year at RIT’s Main Campus in Rochester, New York.
This immersive experience is providing Erza with not only academic enrichment but also cultural exposure and personal growth. Reflecting on her time abroad, she shares one of the most surprising cultural differences she has encountered:
"Coming from a region where public transportation is more integrated into daily life, I was surprised by how much people here rely on cars—even for short distances. While it’s fascinating to see how the infrastructure is built around driving, it has also made me more aware of the role transportation plays in shaping daily experiences."
Spending both Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 at RIT’s main campus has allowed Erza to fully embrace the opportunities that come with international education. Studying abroad is about more than just academics—it’s about learning new ways of life, adapting to different environments, and developing a global mindset.
The Global Scholars program at RIT empowers students to explore education beyond borders, preparing them for leadership in an interconnected world.
At RIT Kosovo, we are moving the world forward!
