RIT Kosovo Welcomes Cybersecurity Leader and Alumnus Robert Shala to Faculty
RIT Kosovo is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Shala as a new member of its faculty beginning this spring semester.
A graduate of RIT Kosovo (Class of 2016), Shala returns to his alma mater after building a distinguished career in cybersecurity, national security policy, and emerging technology risk. He earned a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University, where he was awarded a merit-based scholarship in recognition of his academic excellence.
Throughout his professional career, Shala has contributed to shaping Kosovo’s cybersecurity landscape. He has advised on the development of Kosovo’s National Cybersecurity Strategy and related legislation and played a key role in designing the Cyber Defense Curriculum for the Kosovo Security Force. His work also extends internationally, supporting critical infrastructure security assessments in Eastern Europe.
In addition to his public sector contributions, Shala is a co-founder of Sentry, where he leads offensive security operations and AI-focused security initiatives. He is also a member of OpenAI’s External AI Red Team, contributing to the evaluation of advanced AI systems from a security and risk perspective.
His appointment strengthens RIT Kosovo’s commitment to advancing cybersecurity education and connecting students with faculty who are actively shaping global security conversations.
As RIT Kosovo continues to expand its cybersecurity and technology-focused programs, Shala’s experience brings both strategic insight and practical industry knowledge to the classroom.
