RIT Kosovo Welcomes Largest and One of the Most Academically Accomplished Freshmen Class in Its History
Prishtina, Kosovo – September 2025
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) proudly welcomed its newest class of undergraduate students during Orientation Day, marking the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year. With 220 freshmen joining the community, this is the largest incoming class in the university’s history.

The Class of 2029 stands out not only in size but also in excellence - bringing with them one of the highest average academic performance and entrance exam scores ever recorded at RIT Kosovo. Students represent a wide range of backgrounds, with the majority coming from across Kosovo and the Western Balkans, and others joining from Western Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. Many completed their high school education abroad, further enriching the international spirit of the university and reflecting RIT Kosovo’s mission to foster global education and diversity.

Adding to this international character is the cultural mosaic of Kosovo itself, with representation from minority communities including Serbs, Turks, and members of the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian (RAE) communities. This inclusivity underscores RIT Kosovo’s commitment to providing access to world-class education for students from all ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Among the unique highlights of this year’s class are six sets of twins, adding an exciting dimension to the university’s academic and social life. Students will pursue degrees in the Individualized Program and Computing and Information Technologies (CIT), already showing promise for innovation, leadership, and academic success.
Orientation Day introduced students to the RIT Kosovo campus, faculty, staff, and their peers. Through workshops, networking activities, and academic preparation sessions, freshmen were given the tools to embark on their transformative journey at the only American-accredited university in Kosovo.

“Your presence here is the result of your hard work and ambition, and a reflection of the trust you and your families have placed in us. This is a milestone year for RIT Kosovo. Not only have we admitted our largest class ever, but this group of students represents an extraordinary academic caliber. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work and the bright future they will help shape - for themselves, for Kosovo, and for the world,” said Lavon Bajrami, Chief Administrative Officer at RIT Kosovo.

“I believe in you! In the change you will make, in the world you create and the challenges you will overcome. We cannot wait to see what you will achieve, and we are all rooting for you!” said Michael E. Hess, Interim President of RIT Kosovo.

The newest Tigers at RIT Kosovo now join the large and vibrant community of RIT Global campuses, spanning Rochester, New York; Dubai; Croatia; Albania; and Kosovo.
As they begin their academic journey, the Class of 2029 is set to carry forward RIT Kosovo’s tradition of excellence in education, global engagement, and innovation - while shaping the future of their communities and the world beyond.
