RIT Kosovo Team Attends WE-MIND Workshop at ISCAP P. PORTO

The RIT Kosovo team participated in a three-day workshop focused on co-designing a multilingual online mental health platform as part of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project WE-MIND. Held from July 1-3, 2026, the workshop was hosted by the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP), one of the eight schools of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (P.PORTO), one of Portugal’s largest public higher education institutions.

The workshop brought together representatives from four WE-MIND partner institutions to jointly define the content, functions, accessibility standards, and user-experience principles of the project’s planned digital mental health platform. The event marked the successful completion of Milestone 6 under WP3, representing an important step in moving the platform from the research and consultation phase toward design and development.

During the workshop, participants worked collaboratively to define the main requirements of the WE-MIND multilingual online mental health platform. The first day focused on youth digital mental health, conclusions from the earlier Vienna workshop held in June, and benchmarking existing platforms. Through a World Café co-creation activity, participants explored students’ mental health needs, the platform features and resources they would value, strategies for accessibility and engagement, and factors that could negatively affect the user experience.

On the second day, participants presented and prioritized the proposed features before translating the findings into functional and non-functional platform requirements. They also developed and reviewed preliminary mockups showing how students could access relevant mental health information and support. The final day focused on institutional contributions, next steps, and reflections on the workshop outcomes. The completion of the Porto workshop provided the WE-MIND consortium with agreed priorities, requirements, and initial design concepts for the platform’s next development phase.

In addition to the four RIT Kosovo workshop participants and the primary project coordinator, the RIT Kosovo delegation was joined by Dr. Leandrit Mehmeti and Dr. Mimoza Polloshka, who conducted faculty exchanges planned as part of WP4. Dr. Mehmeti and Dr. Polloshka held a series of important meetings with representatives from several institutional units at ISCAP P. PORTO, including the Office of Support for Innovation in Education and the Office of Planning, Evaluation and Continuous Improvement, the International Office, and the Center for Organizational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto.

These meetings enabled the two institutions to exchange experiences and identify opportunities for cooperation in educational innovation, faculty development, institutional planning, quality assurance, and internationalization as part of the project’s implementation. The visit resulted in plans to jointly organize faculty development workshops for faculty and staff, supporting knowledge exchange and professional development across both academic communities. Most importantly, it contributed to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between RIT Kosovo and P. PORTO, establishing a framework for student, faculty, and staff exchanges and creating new opportunities for academic mobility, professional cooperation, and long-term institutional partnership.

Advancing Student-Centered Mental Health Support

As the coordinating institution of the WE-MIND project, RIT Kosovo remains committed to guiding the consortium’s efforts to develop an accessible, multilingual, and student-centered digital mental health platform. The P. Porto workshop strengthened collaboration among project partners, advanced the platform’s design, and supported broader institutional cooperation. RIT Kosovo extends its sincere appreciation to the ISCAP P. PORTO team for their warm welcome, excellent organization, and valuable contribution to the success of the workshop and related faculty exchange activities.
