About the Program

The RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Alumni Mentorship Program is designed to help foster meaningful relationships between RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) alumni and current students by providing academic guidance as well as career and personal development advice. The mentorship program will help mentees to tap into the knowledge of experienced professionals while also enabling them to grow their network and connect with leaders rather than only their peers. Overall, the mentorship program will enable learning opportunities for current students to succeed at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) and beyond, while facilitating opportunities for alumni to give back and stay connected to their alma mater.

As part of the Alumni Mentorship Program, volunteer members of the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) alumni community will act as mentors to the current student (i.e. the mentees) who are enrolled in their undergraduate studies, whether as part of the Associate of Applied Science in Applied Arts and Science (AAS), B.S. in Applied Arts and Sciences, the B.S. in Computing and Information Technologies (CIT) or Master of Science in Professional Studies degree programs.

Objectives of the Program

  • Build long-lasting relationships between current students and alumni to foster a sense of community at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K).
  • Promote networking opportunities among current students and alumni.
  • Explore diverse industries and career possibilities for current students.
  • Provide alumni with a unique and meaningful way to give back to RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) while helping to shape the personal and professional growth of the students.

How does mentorship program work?

The mentorship program runs through the Academic Year and each mentor is matched with one to three students over a six-months mentorship period, starting from February 26, 2024, to July 26, 2024. Volunteering as a mentor is a great way to stay connected with the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) community. Mentees will be matched with their mentors based on their interests, career goals, and academic backgrounds. The mentor and the mentee shall schedule a joint online call or an in-person meeting at least once a month.

Who can be a mentee?

Current RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) students who want to connect with RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) alumni from a diverse range of experiences and industries The program itself facilitates mentoring relationships between alumni who are working in diverse industries and want to share their expertise with a student mentee who is preparing for their path.

 

Who can be a mentor?

RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) alumni who want to offer students not only academic guidance but also advice on career and personal development. Your mentorship has the potential to inspire students to strategize for the upcoming year, delve into career options, and initiate the establishment of their professional network.

Application Process:

  1. Complete the application form.
  2. The student will receive notification whether his/her application has been accepted and the name of the assigned mentor via email.
  3. The mentor will receive notification whether his/her application has been accepted and the name of the assigned student via email.

Eligibility Criteria for Students

Be a full-time student at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K). Be able to attend mentorship program at least once a month in person or online. Eligibility Criteria for Alumni RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) alumni from diverse personal and professional backgrounds who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with current students are eligible to apply. Must be able to commit to a minimum of one meeting a month in person or online.

Certificates

Upon completion of the program, students and alumni will receive a certificate in recognition of their voluntary work and contribution to community service as part of the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K).
