Making it easier to apply to graduate school

The RIT Honors Program and the International Studies Program present “Applying to Graduate School: A Weekly Prep Seminar,” a nine-week series focused on the application process. The free sessions are open to all RIT students and run from noon to 1 p.m. Fridays from Sept. 17 to Nov. 5 in the Center for Student Innovation.
The application process for graduate school can be a complex and daunting undertaking for students, particularly given the various forms, standardized tests and information required by different programs and different schools.
In an effort to assist students interested in investigating graduate education, the RIT Honors Program and the International Studies Program present “Applying to Graduate School: A Weekly Prep Seminar,” a nine-week series focused on various aspects of the application process. The free sessions are open to all RIT students and run from noon to 1 p.m. every Friday from Sept. 17 to Nov. 5 in the Center for Student Innovation, room 1100.
The program will include assistance in developing a timeline, exam and resume preparation, assistance in selecting a program of study and help with specific applications. Individual sessions will also include a review of RIT’s graduate program offerings and an overview of the law school application process.
In addition, participants will receive guidance and support in preparing for RIT’s annual Graduate School Fair, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. The fair features information on law schools, medical schools, and master’s and doctoral programs from colleges and universities around the United States.
