Deaf History Month and Poetry Month kick off with Ilya Kaminsky reciting his Deaf Republic poems Saturday, April 1, from 5-6:30 at Gates Public Library, 902 Elmgrove Rd, Rochester, NY 14624. There will be a book signing and a reception afterward. Registration is required. Interpreter confirmed. We would love student participation for this April 1st kickoff. We’ll be able to arrange transportation to the event. Please poll your students/classes to see if they want to join the celebration. Email Joan Naturale if you have students interested in participating.

Protactile Poetry Workshop with John Lee Clark, Hayley Broadway, Roberto Cabrera, Jelica Nuccio, and Rhonda Voight-Campbell.  Tuesday, April 25. Drop-ins are welcome from 10 am-12 pm and 2 pm-4 pm at CSD 1445. Receive a poem in Protactile and experience this new expressive genre.
