Photography alumni team up for installation of TIME exhibit at Photoville

A pair of recent RIT School of Photographic Arts and Sciences graduates had the opportunity to work together on the installation of a well-known and powerful exhibit at an esteemed photography festival in New York City.

Jordan Roth and Kim Bubello — both 2016 photojournalism option alumni — contributed to the display of “Finding Home” at Photoville, held in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The two-part festival transformed Brooklyn’s Dumbo district into a community bursting with showcases in shipping containers, discussions, workshops and screenings from Sept. 13-17, and will again Sept. 21-24.

Roth curated the “Finding Home” exhibit shown at Photoville while Bubello assisted with the installation.

“Finding Home” is a TIME magazine multimedia project that documents the journey of Syrian refugee families and their newborn babies as they search for new, more permanent homes in Europe. The TIME  team telling their stories consists of photojournalist Lynsey Addario, journalist Aryn Baker and video producer Francesca Trianni.

Roth is the multimedia coordinator at the Pulitzer Center in Washington, D.C. Bubello is a multimedia editor at TIME.

“Finding Home” isn’t the only Photoville exhibit curated by Roth. She also held that role for “Widowhood,” which examines the status of widows in Uganda, Bosnia and India.
