A new RIT concert series featuring talented faculty members from the RIT Music Program debuted in February 2017. The RIT Faculty Spotlight series opened February 4 in the Schmitt Interfaith Center’s acoustically-pristine Allen Chapel with the Vertex Saxophone Quartet featuring Chisato Eda Marling (saxophone faculty). That performance was followed up quickly with a concert by Pablo Bustos (voice faculty) on February 18. Two additional concerts occurred in April, and featured Laura Lentz (flute faculty and curator of this new concert series) who performed on April 1 with her ensemble fivebyfive Quintet, as well as Amy Cochrane of the voice faculty who performed on April 29. All artists presented a wide array of selections to strong audiences comprised of students, faculty, alumni, and local community supporters. This exciting new series allows RIT music faculty to demonstrate their exceptional talent and proficiency as professional live performers. We hope you will join us as we continue to grow this exciting new series on campus!
