The RIT Fall Planning Committee is meeting regularly to review the best and safest ways to organize move-in and orientation for new first-year, transfers, returning, and graduate students. The University will be communicating directly with you and your family to your RIT email account in the coming weeks regarding when and how you will be moving in, including a time slot that will ensure we are maintaining physical distancing procedures, and proper safety precautions.

First and foremost, our thinking and protocols will be guided by safety considerations, and are subject to change. A decision has been made that all multiple-person rooms in the residence halls will be assigned as double rooms. This means that roommate groups set up by incoming freshmen can be no larger than two students

Linen Services

We provide linen packages for an additional cost.

Traditional Set= $25.00 (One fitted sheet, one flat sheet, two towels, two washcloths and one cotton blanket)

Full Set= $30.00 (A traditional set with a pillow and pillowcase included)

Pillow & Pillow Case= $5.00

Linen Refresh= $15.00 (Required for groups staying longer than 5 weeks)

Fleece Blanket= $6.00


Conference rooms are available for rent based on your application submission date. Please call or schedule a meeting with the Senior Coordinator of RIT Housing regarding specific needs, requests, additions, and/or changes regarding reserving conference rooms.

Duty Staff

Summer staff is on-call each night from 4:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. when the Summer Housing Office is not open. If their services are requested, they can be contacted via our Public Safety Department. Please refer to the Contact page for more information.

A check-list is provided to ensure all requests are made previous to the start date of the event. Event planners shall refer to the checklist for all deadlines due dates.
