Dardan Lajqi - Striving for excellence in education

Dardan Lajqi

Striving for excellence in education was the single biggest factor that contributed to my success and I believe RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) set me up for success, laying down a strong foundation including providing me with early practical skills, numerous opportunities, and a great network of lifelong friends

I graduated with high honors in Economics/Statistics and Management and started my own company in tech while I was a full time student at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K). While a student at RIT Kosovo, I was awarded a full scholarship from the Open Society Foundations to study at Bard College in New York as an exchange student. The experience I got introduced me to tech space and kicked off my entrepreneurial spirit. Upon my return home, I got awarded the Next Generation Scholarship from IPKO Foundation to continue education at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), founded DGL Consulting and Drotrix Ventures, and spent the next 6 year working with software in Kosovo.

Equipped with the knowledge and practical experience attained while at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) combined with the skills developed working in tech and entrepreneurship, I got awarded a scholarship from Cornell University to pursue an MBA at Cornell’s core two-year full time program.

I believe that it is the businesses that drive the most impact in the development of a society: “It is through the development of the private businesses that we are able to lift economies and bring prosperity to the people. And, it is through education on how we support businesses develop and most importantly do the right thing.”

I also believe that striving for excellence in education was the single biggest factor that contributed to my success and I believe RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) set me up for success, laying down a strong foundation including providing me with early practical skills, numerous opportunities, and a great network of lifelong friends.
