First students transition to law school as part of 3+3 program
RIT’s College of Liberal Arts partners with Syracuse University’s College of Law to offer an accelerated 3+3 law program. Students complete both a bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree in six years as opposed to the traditional seven-year timeline.

RIT Kosovo renames Peace and Conflict Summer Program for humanitarian Fred Cuny
RIT Kosovo recently rechristened its unique and long-running summer program that explores the origin and resolution of armed conflict, reconstruction, and institution building at the end of wars. The Frederick C. Cuny Peace and Conflict Summer Program was renamed in honor of the humanitarian and disaster relief specialist who worked in crises in more than 50 countries.

72 paths to a well-rounded student
While many colleges and universities require general education courses, RIT’s immersion requirement takes it a step further. Beyond the typical writing, math, science, social science, global studies, art, and ethics requirements, students are asked to fulfill an additional nine credits in a topic of interest. The intended result is to produce well-rounded students who have gained broader, more diverse perspectives.

Matthias Hausman honored with Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship
After graduating this year, Matthias Hausman, a mechanical engineering and international and global studies double major from Abington Township, Pa., will travel to Saxony, Germany, to teach English this September. As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, he will be placed in a German classroom to provide assistance to a local English teacher.

College of Liberal Arts honors students for writing excellence
RIT's College of Liberal Arts honored student achievements in writing with 15 writing awards on Friday, March 19. This year marks the 41st year the awards were presented, though the first time the ceremony was held virtually.

RIT and Syracuse University College of Law enter into 3+3 admissions agreement
RIT has partnered with Syracuse University College of Law to establish a “3+3” program for students interested in earning a law degree. A memorandum of understanding between the two universities was recently signed to allow students to complete three years of liberal arts and other studies at RIT, then transfer to the College of Law for three years to complete their doctorate in law.
