Government Shutdown

October 1, 2025

The Federal government has shut down all non-essential spending operations as of midnight 10/1/2025. RIT is monitoring communications from federal funding agencies to see how this may impact RIT. SRS continues to monitor sponsor communications, agency websites, and various IHE associations such as COGR for guidance and will share new information as it becomes available.

Research Security Training

Federal regulations concerning Research Security continue to mature as cloud computing, AI, and digital records become the primary method for using, storing, and publishing funded research data.   Most federal agencies now require research security training for all researchers who are named or paid on sponsored research funding.

NFA Module Live

September 1, 2025

The Novelution Non-Financial Agreement (NFA) module is now live. This module must be used to request:

  • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs)
  • Data Usage Agreements (DUAs)
  • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
  • CRADAs

Novelution NFA Module

August 6, 2025

Starting September 1, 2025 Sponsored Research Services will be utilizing the Novelution system for all Non-Financial Agreement (NFA) requests. This includes Non-disclosure Agreements (NDA), Data Use/Transfer Agreements (DUA/DTUA), Materials Transfer Agreements (MTA), and other types of non-financial agreements related to research.
